In 2011 QJAM Entertainment, with demand for more classes and more space, purchased our building..now known as the QJAM Entertainment Centre at 299 Ruthven St, Toowoomba!

We are now very excited to release our 2012 class selection:

Tutting Skills – New Class Alert!

Tutting Skills Class is a move forward for Australian hip hop skills. Tutting is widely used in national and international competitions and on shows such as ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ and ‘America’s Best Dance Crew’.

The style originated in Egypt from King Tut’s time. You may remember the large tutting style used in Michael Jackson’s groundbreaking video ‘Remember the Time’.

Tutting is taught by Guy Freeman, who is a master of this style with winning choreography and a great ability to excite and inspire the dancers around him

Tutting has evolved now into variations of tutting. Tutting uses shapes made from arms and hands which trace the shapes. Finger tutting is creating shapes in the same way arms do and Digits is the manipulation of the fingers into waves and cannons. Footwork is used to take it to the next level.

Bambino Hip Hop

Bambino Hip Hop is an introduction to dance class for 2-3yr olds. This age is a wonderful time to captures a child’s love of music and movement. Bambino Hip Hop lays the foundations down for dancing, musicality, rhythm and role playing.

The boys and girls thoroughly enjoy dance class as they use instruments to make music, march in patterns, learn clap and dance patterns and master the skill of transfer of weight.

To discuss your child’s needs, contact Kathy, the Director and make sure your child is given every opportunity to enjoy the excitement of dance.

Junior Crew Freshh 21 recently competed at the Hip Hop International Competition 2011 – Brisbane Qualifier and brought home a trophy for winning 2nd Runner Up in the Junior Division!!! It was a fantastic night and everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the entertainment, Justice Crew, Instant Bun and Skill@Will.

Crew Members: Lincoln, Trevor, Dion, Cameron, Max, Jade, Alex and Anne.

Australian National Champions

In Sept 2010 the JerKINGS flew to Sydney to compete at the Groove Sydney dance comp, National Jerking competition. The four JerKINGS members, lil’Rich, Mr Santino, Swifty and Dizzle were chosen to represent Queensland and QJAM. The judges had a some tough competition to decide between, but the JerKINGS didn’t hold anything back and performed and tricked their way to become the champs! In front of a capacity crowd they bought home the trophy.

They hope to compete this year at many more shows and comps including the HIP HOP INTERNATIONAL championships in Las Vegas USA in 2011.
